BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Karim Amrane is Vice President of Regulatory and Research at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). He is responsible for the development and implementation of AHRI’s regulatory policy and technology programs. 

Dr. Amrane leads AHRI’s advocacy efforts on issues affecting energy efficiency and the environment (climate change, Montreal Protocol, etc.).  He manages AHRI’s cooperative research program and oversees AHRI’s code activities (fire, mechanical, building, and energy).
 
Dr. Amrane has over 25 years of experience in the air conditioning, heating and refrigeration industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park.  Dr. Amrane is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
