Dr. Assane Gueye is a Research Associate with the University of Maryland, College Park and Guest Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (March 2011) from the University of California at Berkeley and his Master of Engineering (September 2004) in Communication Systems from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Assane’s current research focuses on cybersecurity, the security and resilience of large-scale interconnected systems, risk and risk propagation in networks, and performance evaluation in large-scale networks. In his recent work, Assane has proposed a game-theoretic framework to derive vulnerability metrics for communication networks. His past research includes bottleneck identification in complex network, performance evaluation of wireless cellular networks and sensor network deployment in unknown environment.
