Background Information:

Tom Bestafka, Commander US Navy, is a Liaison Officer between two Navy commands.  His responsibilities are to monitor, coordinate, advise, and assist in the long-range planning for the employment of Naval Construction Forces, the "Seabees".  Tom decided to pursue his Master's degree in Project Management to advance his career and maintain proficiency within his work community.

After completing the program Tom has managed several large scale, highly critical projects for the Navy.  "The knowledge, skills, and abilities gained in the program make Maryland a valuable investment."

Why Maryland:
We asked Tom, why Maryland? "I was pretty much focused on the University of Maryland. I wanted to gain knowledge and insight into the latest innovation in Project Management for engineers. The opportunity to see projects being executed, to see the 'tools of the trade' and to meet engineers and project managers from the private sector was an invaluable perspective for me. The mix of brilliant academics and hands-on project managers was well balanced and appreciated."
